A typical night out in Tralee was set to change the lives of
Eveleen McCarthy and Patrick Quille. They first set eyes on each other in
Quarters nightclub in Tralee, where their chemistry flourished. Eveleen is a
primary school teacher originally from Abbeydorney, but is now living with
Patrick, an IT Tralee researcher in Kilflynn.
The couple were on the road to Dublin, or so Eveleen
thought until Patrick produced a beautiful engagement ring. She said yes, and
they spent the night in the Lyrath Estate Hotel & Spa in Co. Kilkenny. A wedding date
was set for February 27, 2016 in St Bernard’s Church Abbeydorney, followed by a
reception in The Brehon Hotel, Killarney Co. Kerry.

HOW MANY GUESTS? 205
THEME Games. We had a magician perform at the reception and we
named the tables after various games such as “Four in a Row” or “Hook a Duck.” We
put a game to match names on each table as well as a deck of cards. We added
some luminous glasses and sticks which went down a treat for the younger guests.
FAVOURITE MEMORY My favourite memory was definitely listening
to my husband’s speech and exchanging rings!
THE NEXT DAY We had a party in our local pub Parkers in Kilflynn. Fergus
O’Sullivan entertained us.
THE HONEYMOON New York/ Orlando.
WHICH GUEST LOOKED AMAZEBALLS? Well it’s hard to pick one but I
guess my friend Mona looked amazing. She was wearing a long green dress.
WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH PAPER HEARTS PHOTOGRAPHY?
Ann McNamee from Paper Hearts Photography did a great job and I am
really happy with the photos that I have received so far. She choose Ross
Castle for some photos and it was a really good choice. She really worked hard
to get as many photos as possible and wanted to make sure that we were happy.
WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AT THE BREHON HOTEL?
We choose The Brehon in Killarney and we couldn’t be happier with
our choice. The wedding coordinator Kelly Ann was accommodating and helpful. We
got lots of compliments on the lovely food and hotel. The bridal suite was
really nice and the staff were friendly.
