Breda Ryan from Tralee had known of Mikey Greaney from
Brandon for years, but the pair didn’t meet officially until a close friend of
Breda’s started going out with Mikey’s brother.
It wasn’t long before the pair fell for each other and moved
to Australia after six months of dating. On the date of their second
anniversary together, Mikey proposed. “He towed a roadwork sign from Coates
Hire to the front of our Karratha house with a special message lit up in
lights; ‘Breda Ryan, will you marry me?” Breda couldn’t believe her eyes and of
course, she said yes!
The pair have been living in Australia together for four
years but decided to get married at home. The date was set for December 19,
2015, in St. Brendan’s Church, Curraheen followed by a reception the Heights
Hotel Killarney. They shared the day with 198 of their closest family and

The stunning bridesmaids were Caitriona Ryan, Sharon
Greaney, Caroline Dooley and Elaine O’Shea and the charming groomsmen were
Thomas Greaney, Michael John Lynch, Padraig Moriarty and Michael Ryan. Demi O
Connor was fabulous as junior bridesmaid.
THE WEDDING TEAM
Hannah Mai’s Flowers at Collins Nursery provided the flowers
for the day and they looked fabulous. Candle with Care, Castleisland supplied
some fantastic candles for the church and reception.
Nicola’s Haven, Tralee beautified the bride on the morning
of her wedding and a close friend of the bride, Shirley O’Brien finished off
her look with an amazing hair style.
Suits Select were on hand with the suits for the groom and
Mikey organized to borrow a Mustang from a friend to use as
transport. Ciara O Donnell Photography captured all of the couple’s special
moments throughout. The bride’s extremely talented cousins Josephine and Katie
Rafferty were on hand to provide beautiful church music and they set the tone

The bride found it impossible to pinpoint one memory as it was such a
spectacular day, “it has to be the whole day from start to finish, but one
moment that did stand out the most was walking up the aisle with my dad and as
I walked up the aisle I could not stop smiling at Mikey, I was so happy.”
has some excellent advice to share, “It is the most amazing day of your life so
enjoy every minute of it. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. I was organizing it
from another country and could not have done it without the help of my family.”
Whom did you tell you were engaged first? Breda’s father (even
though he knew as Mikey phoned and asked him that morning) then Breda’s mother.
Song you can remember dancing to with your friends? The Saw
Doctors “Never Mind The Strangers.”
Any hiccups: At the mass rehearsal the night before the
wedding, the weather was really bad and as we were going into the church, our
marriage papers blew away in the wind. They blew across the road and down two
fields. Mikey, my sister, and another bridesmaid ran after them down the
