Tralee natives Jennifer Hegarty and Paudi Bailey share a
classic romance, the flames of which were sparked in a Tralee pub many moons
ago. There was an instant connection for the lovebirds and they now live in
their hometown with their two gorgeous boys, Adam and Rian.
Jennifer’s dreams come true with a low key and romantic Christmas-time proposal
and of course she accepted the fabulous ring from Hilsers Jewellers with great
Planning was underway shortly after with the date set for June 18,
2016. Jennifer and Paudi chose to share their vintage and romantic themed day
with 250 of their loved ones at Curraheen Church followed by a tasteful and
romantic reception at The Earl of Desmond Hotel.
THE WEDDING PARTY
chose two of her closest friends, Aoife Moore and Niamh Lynch, to be her
bridesmaids and the job of chief bridesmaid went to her childhood friend,
Michelle O’Dowd. Paudi’s brother, Kieran Bailey, took on the role of bestman
and the groomsmen were his other brother Jim Bailey and his cousin and close
friend, Danny O’Sullivan. The newlyweds included their sons in their day by
appointing Adam as junior groomsman and Rian as pageboy which injected some
cuteness in the day. Jennifer’s nephew Jack Hegarty took on the role of usher
for the ceremony.
THE HEN PARTY
The bride was taken to Galway for a meal and a
booze-cruise for a serious celebration, it didn’t end there though. The girls
planned a second day and brought her to Limerick for some rollerblading and a
lovely meal as well as cocktails and a long night out.
THE WEDDING TEAM
couple chose to involve many of Kerry’s finest wedding vendors in their big
day. The local element was very important to both the bride and groom so they
were delighted to include as many vendors from their locality as possible.
Grace Moore designed and created a stunning wedding cake for the special day
from a picture the bride gave her. Every Occasion in Boherbee Tralee provided fantastic
floral arrangements for the church and the hotel. The hotel itself supplied a
sweet cart for the day and a photobooth was provided by Munster Photobooths.
Jennifer wore a Mori Lee bridal gown. She tried on eight or nine others but
when she found it she knew it was the nicest one she would find. She had a comb
headpiece made in Azure Jewellery to go with her long veil. She also wore a
pair of Carvela heels which were bought in Brown Thomas. The bridesmaids wore
dresses from ASOS and the suits were from Suits Select Tralee and Paudi’s suit
came from Cork. Jennifer’s mother wore a
bespoke outfit designed by Tina Griffin Designs, Killorglin.
Aine McMahon make
up artist was brought in to beautify the bride and her party and the extremely
talented Amy O’Hara from The Hair Boutique did the bride’s hair on the day.
Horan’s Car Hire transported the newlyweds and the bridal
party to the venue and John Walsh Photography captured the couple’s precious
moments and memories perfectly. Dan Devane Productions caught all the action on
film and created a stunning wedding video that Jennifer and Paudi will cherish
Kerry School of Music provided the ceremony music and Bog
the Donkey played early in the night. They were followed by Donal from Video DJ
Kerry who had the guests on the dancefloor all night long. The bride and groom
shared their first dance to the classic, Phil Collins’ ‘Groovy Kinda Love’.
next day the couple had a low key celebration in their local pub, Skelper
Quanes in Blennerville, Tralee. They had entertainment by Paulie O’Brien and
Michael O’Brien and a barbeque with their close friends and guests.
and Paudi flew to New York for five nights to begin their luxurious honeymoon,
followed by nine nights in St. Vincent’s on the Carribean. Can you tell us about your experience at The Earl of Desmond
“The Earl of Desmond is just beautiful with very elegant décor. We wanted our day to be in an atmosphere of
luxury and romance and this was definitely what we got on our day. The staff of the hotel could not do enough
for us, especially Norella. From the day
we booked the venue she was helpful and encouraging and nothing was a problem.”
