Flowers everywhere!

Flowers everywhere!

by Niamh Bartley

The very essence of spring is flowers. They are the first thing that pops into most of our minds when spring is mentioned, especially when it comes to weddings. It is definitely the time of year to play around with floral arrangements and make them a huge part of your day, take some inspiration from these fab ideas.

Have your favourite flowers adorn your wedding invitations and all of your wedding stationery, you could make it a running theme throughout the day. Some delicate flower watermarks or bright floral embellishments would certainly make your invites stand out, especially if your guests see the type of flowers you chose to use on them as part of your arrangements on the day itself.   Flower backdrop You could get some gorgeous candid shots of you and your hubby in front of a wall adorned with beautiful flowers, nothing says romance like a wall of flowers if you ask me. This can look especially cool if you’re getting married in an urban venue, the contrast between the venue and delicate flowers in that situation would look fab.

The cake
Speak to your cake designer and see what they can do in the way of edible flowers for the ultimate spring wedding cake. Alternatively have your cake decorated with real flowers, just make sure you leave instructions for the person who ends up cutting the cake or your guests might be in for a shock.

Use the petals
Decorate your tables with some classically romantic rose petals to add a pop of colour around your centrepieces. You could also do this on the cake table to make it even more gorgeous, it’s an unexpected use of flowers and it won’t overpower the room on top of any other floral arrangements.

Entrance flower arch
A flower arch may not be the perfect fit at the top of the aisle for every couple, but you could place one at the entrance of the ceremony so your guests will have to go under it to get in and out. It would look gorgeous and can be as under or overstated as you wish. Lots of greenery will look amazing winding around the fabulous flowers on this arch.
